REFLECTION

Experience
BCI was quite an insightful module throughout the past 13 weeks. I learned a lot from the lectures, the tutorials and actually doing the assignments. Personally, my favourite part was during Task 2 when we all gathered in class to give feedback on each other's logo sketches as a group physically. I really enjoyed giving and receiving feedback from others as it was good to see things from other's perspectives knowing that sometimes we can be a bit biased to our own designs. It was also really fun to build a brand up from the ground with just our imagination and see everything turn out as if it was a real start-up brand.

Observation
I never really took that much notice to the logos we see every day. Sure, I did sometimes go "Woah look at that!" to some things that catch my eye but I never noticed those sitting right in front of me, hidden in plain sight. It was interesting to analyze different logos and think what was the thought process behind them. Besides that, I also realized that even though we all create our designs digitally, it is still much more enjoyable to sketch physically on a piece of paper. It was actually the first time my pencil box saw the light of day in months HAHAHA. I also learned more about the small things that make a difference like using design elements from my logo itself to further drive the branding in my brand guidelines.

Findings
Definitely found out a lot of the functions I didn't know existed in Adobe Illustrator and Indesign especially. For this module, we definitely went more in-depth with Indesign's functions compared to Advanced Typography, and I was pleasantly surprised to know that our PDFs can be interactive like that. I also definitely found out a lot of things from a business perspective when it came to doing our Brand Positioning and Identity. I was always interested in branding but was not aware of the many aspects behind it.
